The original public toilets of Shaftesbury Square were situated underground by the old Ulster Bank Buildings.
These beautiful art deco railed urinals have long been boarded up and in 2005 Belfast was given its first UriLift, a stainless steel hydraulic urinal.
By day the booth is underground and invisible, much like the original public restrooms in this area.
In the evening the structure becomes exposed in this popular nightlife quarter.
Currently there are no facilities available for women, although the designers have plans to rectify this.
